About Us
Sean Jarman, M.Ed., LCMHCS, CPC
I grew up in Southwest Virginia in a large family that was very service minded. It was just who we were.
When I was 18 years old, I was given the book, “The Road Less Travelled” written by Dr. Scott Peck. This book was so transformational that I decided to become a counselor and started the journey to help others through their suffering. I had no idea that this “road less travelled” would be such an amazing journey of healing for all of us.
After majoring in Psychology from Emory and Henry College, I began working with at-risk teens in a wilderness camp in Hendersonville, NC. From there, I went on to get my master’s in Counseling from Clemson University; and, in 2000, I became a Licensed Professional Counselor. Since then, I have become a LENS Practitioner, Reiki Practitioner, and a Professional Coach.
For the last 25 years, I have worked in a wide variety of settings including adolescent and adult Outpatient and Inpatient units, nursing homes, schools and public behavioral health. I have also been a public speaker and trainer on mental health issues. I now practice therapy in Asheville, North Carolina.
On a personal note, I love music, am a singer/songwriter and guitar player, enjoy the outdoors, and love being a father.
Allison Davis, LCMHCA
I am a native to Asheville and have been fortunate enough to call the Blue Ridge Mountains home!
I treasure every second being surrounded by Asheville’s serenity through the rebirth of every season. In addition to being a counselor by trade, I am wife to an American War Hero and Veteran, as well as a mommy to six, ranging in ages from teenager to Kindergarten.
In life, there are times we find ourselves in unfamiliar waters and without a compass allowing us to navigate. My mission as a counselor is to be a light guide and help you find and follow your compass to your best self and life.
I have multiple years of experience in counseling and gained my Counseling Degree from Montreat College. Since graduating, I have gained experience in community outreach and private practice.
I believe everyone seeks counseling for a specific reason, and every counselor hears their calling accordingly. Victoria Frankle was quoted saying, “What is to give light must endure burning.”
I began my mission to become a counselor to share light on another’s path, because through the ‘burning’ we find our ‘light.’ I have a personal passion for helping children navigate their experiences to success as well as helping those in search of their own light make peace with the burning they have endured.
I have found my role as a counselor includes being a guide to understanding your past and how it defines your present. I am an educator as I introduce new perspectives, reasoning, and skill-building that attends to your specific needs and goals, and I provide you with the unwavering positive regard alongside insights needed to catalyze your own navigation of personal healing. My specialties are working with adolescents and adults using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Play Therapy.
I will help you find your compass and navigate this experience with the goal of you not just surviving anymore. It’s your time to thrive.
